| Code: ARVP06 | On the heels of our popular Arduini Valpolicella comes a Recioto della Valpolicella from the same estate. This wine is made by drying the grapes for on straw mats into raisins. The sun evaporates most of the water in the grapes so there is an unbalanced sugar to water ratio. When pressed a powerful and tantalizing nectar is run off for cold maceration and then 12 months in oak barrels with another 6 months in bottle before release. The pay-off using this labor-intensive method is a dessert wine of class and distinction. The wine is full bodied with a soft and round texture and flavors of cherry. A soft vanilla note is present from oak aging. We suggest uncorking the bottle at least 1 hour before serving alongside matured cheeses or rich chocolate desserts. | |||
