Code: BACL82 | Armagnac is one of the most elegant after dinner spirits in the world. The best Armagnac comes from Bas Armagnac, or "lower Armagnac." Most Armagnac today is blended from different vintages, but some of the older vintage Armagnacs can still be found. Aged in "black oak of Monlezun," which is one of the rarest oaks, this Armagnac offers wonderful flavors of toast and vanilla. Its finish is classic Armagnac - smooth, long and full of caramel. We have a limited quantity of this fine spirit so do not hesitate!

Code: LPCB | Not wine and not liqueur, Pineau is actually a "mistake"! At one time in the Cognac region someone used the wrong barrel to ferment the new wine. The barrel had some Cognac left in it, which did not allow the juice to ferment. However the mixture of fresh grape must and Cognac became famous as a sweet aperitif we know as Pineau des Charentes. Delicious!

The barrel had some Cognac left in it, which did not allow the juice to ferment. However the mixture of fresh grape must and Cognac became famous as a sweet aperitif we know as Pineau des Charentes. Usually seen as white liquor, Landreau produced this rare red Pineau from top quality Merlot and Cabernet grapes that were aged in oak for 3 years yielding a soft and round liquor that makes this French tradition a perfect starter to your holiday parties.

Code: LXO | The sub-regions of Cognac form concentric circles of different soil types, forming a "target" around the town of Cognac itself. In the center of this target is the finest area, called Grande Fine Champagne. Our Landreau XO COGNAC is created from a blend of older barrels, with a minimum of 7 years of age. Although the producers have tried substitutes, the only wood that yields the classical Cognac flavors is expensive oak from Limousin. This cognac is warm, soft and rich with aromatic oak tones. Absolutely excellent.

Code: DEVP | Distillerie Devoille is one of the most famous distillers in all of France. Started in 1859 in the founder Xavier Devoille's home, it was Xavier's son Paul who built Devoille into a business by making a reputation with Kirsch Brandy and Absinthe, which was later banned. The firm is still run by the Devoille family, and they have added William's Pear (Poire William), Raspberry, Mirabelle Plum and Old Plum to the Kirsch Brandy. Devoille is one of the last Distilleries to continue to age their brandies (technically this is brandy, but the French give it the much more poetic name of eau de vie or 'water of life') in glass demijohns in their attic. The reason they do this is twofold: 1) Aging in glass demijohns keeps the color of the brandy clear 2) The warming of the attic in the summer causes evaporation of volatile alcohol which is lovingly called le part des anges ('the part for the angels'). I bet you are wondering how they get the pear in the bottle. It may seem like magic, but it is a pretty simple process. In the spring when the buds of the pears start to break, these bottles are placed over the buds so the pears grow in the bottle! In late August-early September, the bottles are harvested and cleaned gently and thoroughly before being filled with the brandy. Only the best pears from the South of France and the Rhone Valley are selected because the quality of the brandy depends on the quality of the pear. As the pear soaks up the brandy, more is added to keep the bottle full. The 'Pear Williams' Brandy is a fruity and smooth brandy with a fantastic pure pear bouquet. Keep the bottle in the freezer and enjoy in a frosted spirits glass as a digestif after a meal or as a cocktail.

Code: STRANV | Experience the 'real' Italy with one sip of Zanin Distillery's award winning, superior Grappa. This crystal clear, pure spirit is a traditional expression of the delicate, exceptionally pleasant Italian after dinner drink-of-choice. Grappa is unique to Italy, although distilleries from Australia to California are trying their hand at it, and was the cure-all for the farmers who first produced it. Made from pomace, (the grape elements leftover from wine production) genuine Grappa is made in the Veneto region, where Zanin is located. It was first produced in the town of Bassano del Grappa, from where it gets its name, and this potent, dry elixir acheives intoxicating, subdued flavors of the grapes which were used to make it. Enjoy after dinner or pour a few drops in your espresso, and enjoy like an authentic Italian.

Code: STRA10 | Grappa, which literally means "grape stalk," is a very fragrant spirit of authentic Italian origin made by distilling the pomace (grapes leftover from wine production) through slowly heating it, allowing to evaporate and leave behind a potent concentration usually consisting of 40 to 45 percent alcohol. Grappa is usually best stored in a cool, dark place like wine, but will last for several more years than even your best Cabernet. After dinner, slowly sip and savor this aged Grappa, which spent 10 years in barrel, as it aids in the digestion of heavy meals, something Italy is famous for. This "digestivo" is all the rage in Italy and is making quite a mark of popularity within the U.S. The producer, Zanin Distillery is located in the town of Zugliano in Veneto where it was founded in 1895 by the owner's grandfather and currently remains a fourth generation, family-run business.

Germain-Robin produces only 80 barrels of various brandies each year. One of these is made for the white House, where it is used at state functions such as the Reagan-Gorbachev summit in 1987 and Clinton inaugural in 1993. Another barrel has been exclusively distilled and aged for LIONSTONE INTERNATIONAL and their customers. Ed Jack has worked closely with Mr. Germain-Robin to create a unique "XO" style brandy... elegant, rich and smooth. Distilled from premium grape varieties, including Pinot noir and blended with some of the oldest brandies in the Germain- Robin stock, this brandy will hold its own with the finest French XO Cognac.
